Synopsis (short abstract)Sheeppox and goatpox are among the most economically devastating poxvirus diseases of small ruminants, threatening rural livelihoods, food security and trade across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. This field manual provides veterinarians and animal health professionals with clear, practical guidance for the early detection, control and prevention of these transboundary diseases in endemic and at-risk countries.Developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as part of its global effort to strengthen animal health systems, the manual translates complex scientific knowledge into operational tools that can be directly applied in the field.
