Sebastian qualified cum laude in 2008 and took his PhD in 2012 at the University of Messina (Italy). Since 2009 till 2021 he worked as Research Officer at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale (Italy) and at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (UK), dealing mainly with research and surveillance in livestock diseases. In 2018-2019 Sebastian was also working as a red meat hygiene and animal welfare inspector in slaughterhouses in the UK. Since 2022 he works as Veterinary Research Officer at the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (Ireland), carrying out surveillance and research on livestock and poultry. Sebastian is co-author of over 110 proceedings/peer review articles in national and international journals, and of an atlas on small ruminant pathology.
